Public Spaces Protection Order Variation Consultation - Banbury 2026
Overview

This is a public consultation regarding the variation to the current Public Spaces Protection Order in Banbury (PSPO). The current PSPO has been in place since April 2024 and has had a positive impact on the area, but feedback has shown that there is a particular issue with groups gathering who are perceived to be causing antisocial behaviour (ASB) . No changes will be made to the current area covered by the PSPO. A map is available to view on the survey.
We wish to use this survey to gain a better understanding of the public’s perceived issues around groups in the area.
Why your views matter
We are looking for the public to give their opinion on groups gathering and causing ASB within the town centre and surrounding areas and if they believe varying the order would help limit this behaviour. A copy of the current order can be found here: https://www.cherwell.gov.uk/info/120/community-safety/301/anti-social-behaviour/6
The information gathered will be used by the Community Safety Team in considering implementing the variation to the current PSPO.
If you would like a printed copy of the questionnaire or have any questions about the consultation, please email the Community Safety Team at community.safety@cherwell-dc.gov.uk or telephone 01295 221824
