Bletchingdon, Hampton Gay and Poyle NP Consultation

Overview

The Parishes of Bletchingdon, and Hampton Gay and Poyle were formally designated as a neighbourhood area in 2022.  

A Bletchingdon, Hampton Gay and Poyle Neighbourhood Plan (2024 – 2042) has now been submitted to Cherwell District Council under Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012.  It has been prepared following community and stakeholder engagement. 

The draft neighbourhood plan introduces policies that when finalised will be used in determining decisions on planning applications in the parishes of Bletchingdon and Hampton Gay and Poyle.

Cherwell District Council is now obliged to undertake a formal consultation on the submitted plan, and its supporting documents. Links to these documents are available below. Hard copies of the key documents are also available at the places and times specified in the public notice below

The closing date for comments is 11.59pm Sunday, 20 December 2026. 

Following the consultation, it is probable that an independent examination will be held to assess if the neighbourhood plan meets legal requirements. Subject to a positive report and the agreement of Cherwell District Council a referendum will then be held.  

Please note that all representations will be made publicly available and will be forwarded for consideration to the person appointed to carry out an independent examination of the Plan.
